Beautiful post, Lindy. I’m not a photographer, but this does resonate with me. Life is far too short to not take stock, and ultimately, enjoy it. The people we love are important, and we can only give of ourselves properly if we take time to nourish our souls, our fragile souls.

this time you have prior to marriage is a special one to be treasured and protected. wedding seasons come and go but this wonderful season in your life you wil never have again. don’t waste it on computer screens and photo blogs people browse over. life is out there waiting for lindy to embrace. God is jealous of His child. Spend enough time on His lap. Enjoy the healthy boundaries and break :)

I totally agree. I still work half-days at a legal FIRM and going home shooting and editing into all hours of the night is just RIDICULOUS. my hubby has recently lost his job so the pressure is immense. it was the best decision you could ever make. i wish you lots of rest, patience and fun times ahead♥

im so happy to hear you’re doing what is beSt for you! Strangely a lot of Us came from corporate jobs to run our own photography businesses and leave the rat race behind but these past four years i’ve realised that Our photography industry has a rat race all of its own and is actually far worse than the corporate one we came From, because now there is just us and not an entire team to juggle all the hats that come with running a business. We are in a highly saturateD and competitive industry and we feel we need to have faster turn around times and blogpoSts everyday to stay visible, but i have learnt it is a lie. Because in the interIm everything around us gets neglected, first and foremost our relationships as well as our health, (youth) and sanity. I might be coming across a little strong but I got a serious wake up call recently – ones health and husband/wife is not to be neglected. God didnt give us this life to become a slave to work he gave it to us to glorify him and that means finding balance and peace within ourselves to be able to live accordingly. I wish you the very best lindy, rest up and i pray you find the balance needed to continue to hive the beSt of yourself, in all aspects of life xxx

Wow Linds, God uses your life and your blog so much more than you know! What a beautiful testimony :) It’s a wonderful mystery the way God allows us to become more and more fruitful, the more intimate we become with him. But yes, intimacy comes as we draw ourselves away and wait on Him. Praying for you and His grace over you in this time. xx

This is so true! Us photographers really tend to forget that we are stronger if we nourish ourselves. I’ve come to the same realization (because having a full time job, then editing until 2am and getting up at 5am is just not cutting it). I hope you enjoy every second and will be refreshed when you’re behind the camera again!

A very Honest and touching post Lindi. So many lessons for us all to remember. Master pieces are not created over night … You have a talent that people will be prepared to wait a little longer for. Take it easy and be kind to yourself.
