This family right here reserve an incredibly special place in my heart. Natasha (or Tash/ Stashy/ Flash) was my very first assistant I appointed back in the day when my wedding photography started taking off. She lightning fast became a dear friend, and the question we got asked most at weddings was…”are you sisters?” Which lead to her title of ‘assistant’ changing to as-SISTER! There are two ways of describing Tash which require me to borrow from the Afrikaans language. She is “vlymskerp” and a “raakvatter”. It was such a pleasure working with her, because she always did her work well and with a lot of humour too, so there was never a dull moment. During the years spent working and travelling together I got to know her folks well too, and they became like my Stellenbosch parents. Gosh, they are some of the most hospitable people that you can find on this planet- and I would always come away with a full tummy of the most delicious food!
The time came when Tash fell in love- and she fell hard. For a man in the German navy, who with his quiet but sure demeanour won us all over too. After an incredibly memorable wedding, the two lovebirds left for Germany to start life together there. A long journey of waiting, praying, trusting (and some more waiting) lead to the arrival of the cutest little princess Charlotte. A more content little bubba I have yet to meet!
Down in SA for a visit, they made the trip up to Riversdale for a quick visit and photoshoot. And as always, the time seemed to go too quickly, but as always too- the memories made were beyond precious.
To my Stashy and your gorgeous family- I am so grateful I got to see you all again and to meet our answered prayer and miracle girl! Praise the Lord for her beautiful and wonder-filled first year of life! May she bring you so much joy and fun adventures as she grows! You two are excellent parents! I love you all and am deeply grateful to have you in my life. All my love, Linds xxx
Shout out to the wonderful De Swart family for the use of their beautiful farm, tame horses and not so tame chickens! 😂
